Elite Youth Program

We are excited to launch our first Elite Youth Program, a scholarship program designed to help young golfers between 12 and 21 years, kick-start their journey to playing high-level golf.

Holistically designed, the program includes monthly skills and development sessions overseen by Lonsdale Links’ qualified PGA professionals.

The 2023/2024 program will commence in February and run through to January 2024.

 

What’s Included in the Program

  • Lonsdale Links Membership

  • Payment of participants’ entry fees into golf tournaments up to $200 total each year
  • Elite Youth Program Merchandise pack including Titleist Stand Bag, Golf Balls, Gloves, Caps and Lonsdale Links socks

Stretching and Conditioning
  • Fitness screening by professional Personal Trainer
  • Design of individual stretching and fitness program
Gapping
  • GC Quad and Net set up on range
  • Informative session on club distances
Course Management
  • Practical on-course session working on course management and pre-shot routine
  • Create Game Plan prior to round
Chipping and Putting
  • Participate in chipping competition
  • Landing zones
  • N/S/E/W putting
Full Swing
  • 9-shot challenge
  • GC Quad challenge
Oncourse
  • 4 Club Challenge
Stretching and Conditioning Re-assessment
  • Re-assess program based on improvements
  • Create new program (if required)
Gapping Continued
  • Re-conduct gapping session to see improvements from fitness program
Skills Challenge
  • Full swing 9-shot game
  • U&D Challenge
  • Putting Stations
Last Session and Presentation
  • Pairs Ambrose Competition (9-holes)
  • Presentation, drinks and snacks

Selection Criteria

  • Program participants must be between the ages 12 years and 21 years inclusive, as of 1 July 2023
  • Assessment of ability, potential, and desire to participate in the program
  • Preference will be provided to applicants who are not cadets/junior Members of a peer club, or who are not enrolled in a development scholarship elsewhere
