WOMENS CAPTAINS REPORT

FEBRUARY 2017

The start or our season began well with a nine hole around the world opening day and lunch with around 120 players and guests. The opening day for the chooks was not as blessed with the same weather as Tuesday but it was still well supported.

The start of the South Western Golf season also began well for us with two pieces of Silverwear. Queens Park Bowl team of HeatherPerkins,JillLeonard & Lynne Toleman. Queenscliff Open Ambrose team of Alanna Mills,Jo Cordner,Heather Perkins and Jude Michell. Unfortunately we had to handback the Barwon Heads bowl/ribbons but Heather Perkins had an eagle on the 9th well done.

We have had strong fields for both Tuesday and Saturday it is great to see so many women playing.

WE have played the first two rounds of the Silver Spoon ,the first round there were two winners Lynne Toleman and Rachael Kelcey, the second round was Rachael Kelcey again, well done to both of these players.

Our first quarterly medal was stroke and it was won by Val Avent.

Saturday the 25th saw one of our new members have a win Kate Whitford nice way to start at a new club.

Two rounds that stood out were Helen Blundy with +4 and Georgie Clegg with 47 points .

The weather was perfect for Guest Day a little windy but that kept the temperature down. We had a field of 108 players over forty were guests. There was a good vibe in the clubhouse and plenty of green. Thank you Helen for your selections of prizes they set a good tone, especially the mystery prizes. Thanks to all the helpers that helped set up, I thought the tables looked great.

Winners of Member Guest were Lyn Reynolds and Beth Briedis from Northern. Member Member were Barb Latham and Margaret Snooks.

I thank all the members for their support on the day, it was great to show the guests our hospitality.

Cheers Kath
