Lonsdale Golf Club move to Queenscliff Golf Club
Posted on: 24 July
I must thank all LGC members for their patience in this process.
We will be honorary members at Queenscliff Golf Club while our course is out of action. There is a financial benefit to QGC but they have been very generous in allowing LGC members access to their golf course.
LGC members have been asked for permission to transfer data to enable this process to occur. So far we have over 260 positive responses.
Each LGC member who gave permission will have received an email from Slice (QGC’s equivalent to MiClub), detailing the process to enable them to access the QGC booking system. While the system is different to that used at LGC, I am sure everyone will soon accustom themselves to it. There are a few teething problems to resolve but that is already happening.
Our members will have access to QGC’s Point of Sale (POS) system. Each member can obtain a Fob which enables a cashless transaction procedure at QGC. The Fob enables LGC members to purchase items at discounted member rates. Competition fees can be paid using the Fob providing you have a positive balance.
All winnings (for the good golfers) will be paid into your account. You can add to the account at any time or pay cash if you wish.
QGC will have personnel to provide assistance on the first day we transition but it may take some time, so please factor that in when you set off for your game.
For the men, we will take part in the QGC events on Wednesday and Saturday. LGC members will of course be unable to win a board event at Queenscliff.
For the women, we will run our Tuesday events as per the LGC fixture because there is no QGC event for women on that day. The QGC women will be invited to join our events.
Thursday and Friday events will run as per the LGC fixture.
Guests – LGC members will be able to bring guests to the course and pay at the member guest rate.
Carts – There are limited carts available at QGC however we may be able to satisfy the demand if members are prepared to share carts. We effectively double the capacity if this happens. We will monitor the cart usage before we consider any restriction of access.
Carts at member rates are $25 for 18 holes and $15 for 9 holes.
LGC members are able to access the Queenscliff golf course at any time but we remind you to check in when you play so that traffic on the course can be managed.
Parking is limited at QGC so please allow time to find a park. There will be Marshalls directing traffic to overflow parking for the first few weeks.
Kind Regards,
Graham Douglas
