Casual Vacancy on Executive Committee

Dear Members,
It has been drawn to the attention of the Executive Committee that the process by which Daelene Crigan was appointed to fill a Casual Vacancy on the Executive Committee was not in accordance with the Lonsdale Golf Club Rules of Association. The Executive Committee apologises to Daelene and all members for this oversight and has rescinded the motion appointing her to the position.
Rule 15.6 states:
In the event of a casual vacancy in any position in the Executive Committee, the Executive Committee must ensure that this vacancy is filled as soon as is reasonably practicable by calling for expressions of interest in writing and after 14 days appointing a single nominee or if more than one nomination is received deciding an appointee by Executive Committee ballot. The person so appointed may continue in office up to the annual general meeting at which the person who vacated such position otherwise would have retired.
In accordance with Rule 15.6, expressions of interest are called for members to fill the Casual Vacancy, the term of which expires at the next AGM. Expressions of interest will close at 5.00pm on Tuesday 9th of July and should be addressed to the attention of the President, Lonsdale Golf Club Inc.
