Nominations for Executive Committee Positions
Nominations are called for President, Captain and six Executive Committee positions commencing December 2018. Nomination forms are available from the Club office and must be returned to the General Manager no later than 5.00pm on Saturday 10th November, 2018.
The positions to be filled are:
- President (Two Year Term)
- Club Captain (One Year Term)
- Executive Committee Member (One Year Term)
- Executive Committee Member (One Year Term)
- Executive Committee Member (Two Year Term)
- Executive Committee Member (Two Year Term)
- Executive Committee Member (Three Year Term)
- Executive Committee Member (Three Year Term)
The term of each Executive Member position will be determined by agreement among elected members.
Members may nominate for more than one position.
All nominations must be signed by two Financial Members of the Lonsdale Golf Club and be accompanied by the written consent of the candidate.
If the number of nominations exceed the number of Executive Positions vacant, then an election will be called and will be by a postal ballot.
Should there be more than one nomination for the position of President or Captain, then an election will be called and will be by postal ballot.
The results of the election will be presented at the Annual General Meeting, to be held on Sunday 9th December, 2018.

There are four Executive Committee Working Groups whose roles are briefly summarised here.
Finance and Governance: Generally responsible for all matters relating to the financial operation of the club, ensuring its financial viability and improving its profitability. Responsible for the monitoring, review and updating structure of the Club and the coordination of future development activities.
Golf Operations: Charged with the responsibility of planning, coordinating and directing a calendar of playing events for Club Members and with establishing a system and set of conditions that ensure all golfing events are fair and equitable for all players.
Facilities: Responsible for promoting and facilitating the development and maintenance of the golf course to the highest possible standard. Involved in this process is ensuring that all feasible actions are taken to preserve the physical environment, amenity and presentation of the course. Responsible for the maintenance and upgrade of facilities, including course, irrigation systems, buildings, plant and equipment.
Member Services: Responsible for policies and actions to maintain and increase Club membership and use of the Club’s facilities and services, which involves the preparation and implementation of marketing plans, promotion of the Club to the local and wider community and the securing of sponsorships. Responsible for ensuring that the Clubhouse operates efficiently in servicing the needs and expectations of members and visitors, providing a welcoming environment and facilitating the achievement of a profitable and improving financial situation.
The Captain will convene the Golf Operations working group. Conveners of the other working groups are appointed by the President, in consultation with Executive Committee members. Executive Committee members will participate in one or more working groups. The President is an ex-officio member of all working groups.
