9 Hole Course
Posted on: 17 July
It has been just on a month since we began playing the 9 Hole course and so far so good. I think members have enjoyed the challenge that playing ‘2 nines’ offers with many commenting that the “front played much harder than the back”, or vice-versa.
Some of the men have had difficulty with revised arrangements for the Golden Shot however that now seems to have been resolved. The women adapted much more quickly. I wonder why?
We have not had anyone on the waiting list who has been unable to play so that appears to be working. No doubt there will be challenges in this regard as the weather improves and the nomads re-appear. We will all need to exercise patience and keep our focus on the long term benefit to the club.
The course can only take limited numbers at any given time. We have a limit of 100 in our regular competitions.
In this regard, and because some competition times have changed, could all members who intend to go out for a social round please report to the Pro-Shop to check that it is OK to commence play.
Also can I remind everyone that Members only have rights to use the course on competition days – Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Saturday’s up to 3.30pm. Social golfers, member’s guests and members are able to book in and play after the Competition. Other days, green fee players and non-members are welcome.
All the arrangements made to ensure we continue to enjoy our golf were outlined in the Captain’s report in the May newsletter.
