MEMBER INTENTION RESEARCH
Dear Members,
As we move into Phase 1 of the course reconstruction there is a need to have a better understanding of members’ intentions regarding their course and clubhouse usage as this work is undertaken through the next two years.
The challenge for your Committee and for Management is to ensure a minimum of disruption while this extensive work is undertaken, while at the same time providing appropriate standards of service across the existing club facilities for all members and guests.
PHASE 1 CONSTRUCTION PLANS: JUNE 2018 – MAY 2019
- Closure of the current back nine holes for reconstruction: JUNE 2018
- Development of Residential Stage 6, requiring the shortening of holes 1 & 9 with 9 becoming a par 3: AUGUST 2018
PHASE 2 CONSTRUCTION PLANS: JUNE 2019 – May 2020
- Closure of the nine holes open during Phase 1
- Opening of the reconstructed holes (Phase 1)
- Building the new clubhouse and related facilities
CONTINUING FACILITIES: JUNE 2018 – MAY 2019
- Nine holes of golf across the current front nine with multiple tees and some amendment to the playing sequence
- Normal 18 hole competition played over the nine available holes
- Normal parking as it exists today
- Full Clubhouse service as it exists today
- Pro Shop and X-Golf as they exist today
- Appropriate standards of course maintenance will continue across the holes in play
MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS
- Membership fees will be held at the current levels for the two-year development period.
- Inevitably, once the new course and clubhouse are completed, membership subscriptions and green fees will need to increase in keeping with the quality of the redeveloped course and new clubhouse, while being competitive with other leading clubs across the Bellarine Peninsula
- Those members who maintain their club affiliation during the development period (Foundation Members) will benefit from a phasing in of fee increases
The early overwhelming member support for the Course and Clubhouse redevelopment, along with new members who have joined since the commencement of the project, indicates there continues to be a very high awareness and interest in the overall development, specifically designed to shore up the long term financial viability of the Lonsdale Golf Club while building first class amenities equal to anything offered on the Bellarine Peninsula.
With that background of support, it would be of significant assistance to those planning the next few years’ financial outcomes if we had some Member feedback to work from regarding your personal intentions to use both the course and the facilities while work is in progress. Other Clubs addressing similar disruptions have sought member input very successfully and we hope that this will be the case at our Club.
In advance, we sincerely thank you for your participation.
