Re-structure of the Management of the LGC Redevelopment
Posted on: 31 January
Dear Members,
As the Redevelopment Project enters an expanded period of implementation covering the building of the approved Golf Course, the development of the new Clubhouse and the development of the final stages of the residential precinct, it is proposed that the on-going role of Task Force be reviewed to reflect this increased level of activity.
Fundamental to the recommendation is the need to manage on-going work processes with an experienced team of Consultants driving the program rather than the volunteer Task Force group who have safely and successfully delivered the project to this point.
Whilst the current Task Force group remains totally committed to the Redevelopment, there is an understanding and agreement that, rather than continue in its executive function, this same group will now assume a project advisory role to assist the Consultant Team as and when requested, with the expectation that the group will meet quarterly to receive project updates over and above any individual participation in specific matters. Such a repositioning provides important continuity to the work of the last five years but removes volunteer hours from the future development program.
We are pleased to announce that Peter Daddo has accepted an offer to lead the Redevelopment Team as Development Director, answering to the LGC Executive. Supporting Peter, we are equally pleased to announce that Brad Van Cuylenberg has accepted an offer as Development Manager. In their respective capacities they will attend the monthly LGC Executive meetings to report on the Redevelopment outcomes and plans, including appropriate financial reporting. A further advantage is that Peter and Brad will be resident in the local area.
We take this opportunity to thank not only the current Task Force members for their service, but all former Task Force members going back to 2002 when the body was first established. It has been a long and at times difficult journey and we acknowledge everyone’s contribution in support of getting the Redevelopment to its present level of completion.
Given Peter’s extensive Task Force involvement over these past five years and Brad’s experience in project managing golf course/clubhouse redevelopments, the leadership transition to this new structure can happen immediately. Peter will decide the timing of the transition of the various Redevelopment work streams from the existing Task Force members.
We commend these new arrangements to all Club Members.
