Longuehaye Final – Report

On Sunday 12 November in perfect conditions and in good spirit Mark and Kylie Thomas played Lynne Toleman and Graeme Buckland in the final of the Longuehaye Mixed 4 Ball.
The first 2 holes were halved but then Graeme and Lynne won the next 4 holes. It looked like the match might end quickly but Kylie and Mark came back winning 8 and 9 to be 2 down after 9.The match see-sawed for the next few holes with pressure mounting when Mark and Kylie won the 16th to be one down as Graeme’s Par putt just lipped out.
On the 17th both Mark and Graeme drove the green, Graeme on the green and Mark over the back and it was game on as the Thomas’s were to get a shot each on the18th. Bucky gave them a hope when he left his first putt short, Mark was in for 4 but Bucky withstood the pressure and holed the putt for a birdie winning the match 2/1.
Congratulations to all players for the great spirit in which the match was played and well done to Lynne and Graeme – a formidable duo.
