Melbourne Cup Day Report
Posted on: 8 November
Melbourne Cup Day 4BBB was a successful day with over 80 players in the field. The winners of the day were Colin Fraser and Jeanne Hildebrandt with the amazing score of 53 points.
Another highlight was a Hole in One for John Calnin on the 18th. It was John’s first Hole in One after over 40 years of trying.
Rob Aulich welcomed all, complete with hat, which set the tone for the day.
Everyone enjoyed the carvery lunch but I feel that The Fashions on the Fairway competition was a standout.
The judges: Carol Galloper (Trotter) was stunningly dressed in a designer dress from Blackall with accompanying hat from the Titheridge boutique in Point Lonsdale and Paul Heseltine, not to be outdone was resplendent in a beige linen suit complemented by tie and braces.
The winners of the awards were Martin Evans in a colourful outfit completely coordinated and Margie Pitcher who dressed in the spirit of the day as a jockey, complete with whip.
Thank you to the catering staff and bar staff who made the day run well. Thanks Lorraine for the decorations and table organisation.
Thank you to those who made the effort to dress to impress, and everyone who attended and enjoyed the fun of Cup Day at LGC.
