Women’s President Report – August

2017 WOMEN’S CHARITY DAY held 15th August with proceeds in support of Gateway Support Services (Carers of children with autism spectrum disorder Geelong/Bellarine) was a very successful day. Carolyn McDiarmid from Gateways was the guest speaker. Eighty players, including visitors from seventeen other golf clubs, enjoyed the day.
We thank our sponsors – Lorel Larcombe, Jo Barker and Sally Collier. We are lucky to have such generous women at our club!
N.T.P’s Prizes were donated by Hermit Crab, Pt Lonsdale Road. Pt Lonsdale Guest House, Pasquinis and Lonsdale IGA donated the main voucher prizes for the raffle. Our ladies were also busy cooking items for the trade table.
These combined contributions/efforts made for a very healthy profit of $1,858.20 on the day. Carolyn was surprised and delighted with the result.
Congratulations to Kate Simpson on winning the Iris & Charlie Phelan trophy. Good to see one of our younger, newer members winning some of the silverware.
Eva Russell is organizing an 80th birthday luncheon on Friday 27th October for four of our women reaching that milestone. List up in locker room if you would like to attend.
Welcome to the new women members Leonie Rutherford and Mary Janson. We hope you enjoy your time at Lonsdale Golf Club. Welcome also to the new male members that joined this month.
