COVID-19 Member Update
Posted on: 6 April
Dear Members,
I hope everyone has been able to establish their isolation routine and are settling into this rather unfamiliar lifestyle. It is a very good time to stay in touch with friends to make sure everyone is doing okay.
Further to my newsletter last week there are two points I wanted to update you on.
The first is in relation to our staff. We have carefully reviewed the Government’s JobKeeper initiative. It does provide financial relief enabling us to keep our permanent employees engaged, albeit at reduced hours. This relief extends to casuals who have over 12 months service although we only have one in this category. While routine tasks continue at a lower level, effort is being directed towards activities associated with relocating and reestablishing the club in the new clubhouse.
We will review these arrangements monthly at our Executive Committee meetings or as necessary should there be any change in the economic or pandemic situation.
We have also accessed the boosting cash flow Government initiative which will provide $100k of support over the next six months.
The second point is in relation to membership subscriptions. Subscriptions are our largest single source of revenue and our budget to operate the club for 2019/20 and into the future is dependent upon that continuing. While we cannot know when we will be able to open for business, we do hope that members recognise this, and understand how important it is to maintain their financial support of the club at this time.
Stay safe, stay well
