Lonsdale Foursomes

The LGC Foursomes championships were held on Sunday 28 July in conjunction with the SWGA Foursomes.
The weather was perfect, in contrast to the sleet and freezing conditions in 2018. The numbers were down with only 21 pairs contesting the SWGA event, however, there were some good scores.
Winners of the SWGA Foursomes were Matt McFarlane and Matt Walkenhorst with scores of 71 and 32.
The winners of the LGC Foursomes were Dick Lewis and Brett Maslen with scores of 73 and 36.
What a great game we have. We all strive to do better, tinkering with the swing or the equipment, but largely doing the same thing week in, week out and hoping for a different result.
This really is a game for life and there is always the possibility of that one day when everything clicks.
This was the case for Brett who last won the Foursomes championship 27 years ago in 1992. Let’s hope the next one doesn’t take quite so long.
