Women’s Captain Report – August

The Final of the Iris and Charlie Phelan Perpetual trophy was played in near perfect conditions between Kate Simpson and Carolyn Maas, it was a great match with Kate winning on the 16th. Thank you to all the women who came out and supported them, it makes the day so much more special.
Charity Day was a great success, with a few showers in the morning before we started then they stayed away. It never ceases to amaze me how the Women of our club support this event with 86 women raising over $1,800. Fantastic. It was nice to see some of our guests in the winning circle. Our President knows how to pick her partners, a rather new member Monica Davis, congratulations to you both winners on the day.
Congratulations to Sue Miller’s hole in one on the 10th Saturday 5th August.
More congratulations to Heather Perkins for becoming a selector for SWGA for country week.
Qualifying round for the Maggie Roderick was played on the 29th with all entrants qualifying. Good luck to you all.
Don’t forget our Open starts in a few weeks and it would be great to have as many people playing as possible.
It’s nice to see some of our northern adventures returning. I bet you wished you had stayed away longer.
Good Golfing as the weather is supposed to be getting better.
