WOMEN’S PRESIDENT REPORT APRIL 2017
The club championships were concluded end of March. Congratulations to the championship winners, especially Heather Perkins Club Champion for 2017. We thank Bob Macafee for his support of LGC women’s golf and for once again sponsoring the women’s championships.
We welcome our two new part-time office staff who joined us three weeks ago. Carly Jehu, our accountant, working on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Allie Crosgrove, marketing, works Wednesday – Friday. Allie will be responsible for postings on our women’s web page and Facebook so forward items to allie@lonsdalegc.com.au We hope they both enjoy their time with us as they will be pivotal to our success going forward.
Amongst the eight new members that joined in March we welcome one new lady, Rainey Johnstone-Russell.
This month we sadly said farewell to our caterer, Rachael and her team. The women appreciate her nineteen months with us and wish her well in any new enterprise.
Easter weekend has been very successful with the introduction of the Easter Sunday event, the Gentsomes. Well done Lorel! Great to see that the winners were some of our younger members. From all accounts there was a good vibe around the club all weekend with many green fee players also availing themselves of the good weather conditions.
The women’s sub-committee will be busy in May with the Lonsdale Women’s Open Challenge Bowl on 15th. This year we are delighted to have a new sponsor, Big 4 Beacon Resort in Queenscliff. We appreciate the support of the Golightly family.
Pennant is in full swing and Pennant Night on 19th May will celebrate this year’s successes and losses. Either way it will be a fun night, going back in time to the 60’s with the theme this year – Aquarius. Empty Mateus bottles wanted, leave in ladies locker room!
With the development building blocks selling and new members joining LGC each month we are making good progress towards our plans for the future.
Happy golfing!
