Peter Stotz, Tim Sanders, Rainey Russell and Luke Adam.

It is wonderful to see so many new faces participating in the daily competitions. Please introduce yourself to these people and make them welcome.

Guest Day on Wednesday 8 March was very successful with 127 players for the day. We had 30 guest from 14 clubs so well done to all who brought a friend.

Winners were: Am Ken Goss and Jim Wilson (Portarlington) 45 pts

Alan and Neil Daw M/M 47 Pts

Pm: Richard Raselli and David Cooke (Barwon Heads) 44 on C/B

Felix Hakins and John Fearon M/M 48 pts

Philip Scambler had a hole in one on the tenth. He was a little unlucky as Ross McKenzie had emptied the eagles nest on the previous Saturday when he holes out on the same hole.

Score Cards Last week was bad, really bad as in the am field on guest day only 5 members entered correct cards. The afternoon was better 6 entered correctly. This slows up the processing and leads to long queues.  So to improve make sure as marker, before signing the card that you call through the gross scores with the player and ensure you have the dot in the appropriate square.

Ensure that you agree on the score as gross scores must not be changed after cards are returned.  The card reader cannot read the dots if there are other marks on the card or if the dots are over the lines. Let’s see if over the next few weeks we can improve maybe get it right first go.

9 Hole Players: Starting next Wednesday, if there are members wishing to play 9 holes, get a group together, ring Sean and he will allocate you a time that suits you. Course is now rated for handicapping on 9 holes. Will be great for new 9 hole members and others returning from injuries.

Club House Leaders: Starting next week, Rob has offered to give a sleeve of balls to the clubhouse leaders, men and women, in the morning and in the afternoon provided you are there to collect them when the announcement is made. No Rain Checks or Holds.

Vets Pennant: Unfortunately the Vets were defeated last Monday in the semi-finals so are now practising for next year.

Pennant: Teams will be announced on Saturday at presentations and the first round is on Sunday.

Vets Day: Don’t forget that Thursday 16th is next event. 9.30 Shotgun Start, American Foursomes.

Easter Gentsomes:  Sunday 16 April 8.30 Shotgun Start. Get a team organised as April is just around the corner.
