Celebrations followed the last round and we sincerely thank Bob Macafee for his generous and continued support of this women’s event. Lovely photos are on our website and on the SWDLGA website. I congratulate all winners and thank all those who enter this event and stay after to celebrate with our winners. The atmosphere is excellent and as this is the most prestigious event of our calendar it is important to acknowledge it appropriately.

Saturday events in this period were all Stableford. 2nd of April was won by Sally Collier on 36 on a countback from Jude Michell. Saturday the 9th saw Helen Lewry win on 36 points from Marj Golding on 35. Jude Michell won again on the 16th on 35 on a countback from Carolyn Matthews-Sillitoe. Saturday the 23rd was won by Bev Obst on 37 from Jude Michell.

The Tuesday following the championships is traditionally a fun day played as a shotgun start from the yellow tees. In fabulous summery weather A grade was won by Maureen Harrison 41 points, B grade by Pam Jelbart on 45 and C grade by Helen Hess on 40. Golden shots went to Lynne Toleman and Marg Pitcher.

Pennant continues in great weather. We have had one team hosting each Friday and the course and the meals have been a credit to us. We have had some great results with Div 2 currently leading the ladder. We do well to continue to sent 5 teams out each week in very stiff competition. I thank all the players and emergencies. We are planning our Pennant Night celebrations and the theme will be Country and Western. The intrepid Lonsdale Line Dancers are already in rehearsal  and will be making a debut performance no doubt to tumultuous applause as did the synchronised swimmers last year.

Next month will be busy with the Lonsdale Bowl event and we thank Aus Dent Paintless repairs of Geelong for their sponsorship. We especially anticipate the Chooks and Roosters nine hole event which Judy Collins hopes will fill the course. It will be brilliantly decorated in theme as always and the women are delighted to have Sean playing for us this year.
