Men’s Pennant Report – Round 1

The 2018 Pennant season got off to a flying start on Friday evening with a clinic led by Sean followed by dinner. At the dinner the teams for Divisions 2 and 4 were named and the Jubilant Juniors recognised for their great victory in winning the Westerveld Shield and the Ford Cup. It is the first time Lonsdale has won the ford Cup since 1981 so we are all still celebrating.
It was great to have so many at the dinner as parents, caddies and friends were also invited to attend.
This year it is most unusual as there are 2 father and sons in Division 4 with Derek and Aiden Edwards and Gary and Rex D’Arcy.

The first round began on Sunday 18 March with Division 2 at Portarlington.
Even though the weather was shocking they started their season with a great 6.5/0.5 win.
Division 4 had an early start to get to Colac in the wind and rain and halved their match.
A great result for the first round.
