Malpas Cup Report

The final of the Malpas Cup was played in perfect conditions on Sunday 15th of October.
The finalists were Alex Korostin, who defeated Steve Vicary and John Anderson to reach the final, and Chris Roberts.
Chris had wins over David Bird, Bob Macafee and Derek Edwards before meeting Alex.
It was a close contest taking turns to win a hole at the start but a couple of great putts from Chris saw him take the lead at the 9th and Alex found it difficult to win a hole as Chris played the second nine very consistently. Chris won the match 4/3 and he has done extremely well to win a gold letter event in his first year as a member.
Congratulations to both players for reaching the final.
